About the ICA
The Irish Countrywomen’s Association (ICA) is the largest women’s association in Ireland, with circa 6,000 members and over 440 Guilds nationwide.
We cook, travel, craft, learn, and socialise, building strong connections within our communities.
The aim of the ICA is to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and enjoyable organisation that offers support, friendship, personal development, education, and lifelong learning for women of all ages.
Our members regularly:
-
Learn new skills
-
Participate in local charity initiatives
-
Actively engage in their local communities
As an ICA member, your voice is heard locally, at county level, and nationally. Through our representative structure, we work to ensure that women’s interests, family policies, and community values remain central to government policy—both nationally and within local authorities.
With over 110 years of history, the ICA continues to nurture the Irish language, Irish culture, and traditional heritage crafts, ensuring these important skills and traditions are preserved and passed on to future generations.
The ICA is a registered charity.
