Champion Open riding pony will receive a Champion rosette and a cup.  Qualifiers for this are first class winners of ponies under 128, ponies under 138 and ponies under 148.

Full address and Eircode must be supplied for all entries. Prize money will be paid by cheque after the show. Please note that a 5% ISA levy will be deducted from all prize money.

UNDERAGE RIDERS:
Any rider under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Horse riding is a dangerous sport. While mounted, all competitors and ride judges must wear suitable protective headgear, compliant with current safety standards and securely fastened at all times.

Pony Open Riding - Opening Notes

Champion Open Riding Pony

Judging will commence after the Connemara Pony classes.

The Champion Open Riding Pony will receive a Champion Rosette and Cup and will be selected from 1st prize winners in the following classes:
Ponies under 128cm, under 138cm and under 148cm.

Prizes: Champion €30 · Reserve Champion €15

Ponies may be shown in any suitable bridle. Judged on suitability, obedience, conformation and movement. An individual showpiece may be required. All children may be asked to unsaddle, saddle and lead their ponies unassisted.

Ponies entered in these classes are not eligible to compete in Novice Riding Pony or Riding School classes.

Horse & Pony Competitions - Closing Notes

All classes are subject to a minimum of five (5) entries for 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes to be awarded.
Where fewer than five entries are received, 1st prize only will be awarded.

The horse and pony classes bring elegance and excitement to the Dundalk Show. Featuring a range of classes, these competitions showcase well-presented animals, skilled handling and a deep appreciation for Ireland’s strong equestrian tradition.
